Routine Maintenance Every 7,500 Miles
The 7,500-mile service interval is an important one because it marks the first time you’ll change the oil in your Honda Odyssey. Fresh, clean motor oil is a necessity to lubricate all the parts of the engine and keep it from overheating. So, at this maintenance appointment, your Honda technician will change the oil and replace the oil filter.
The technician may also rotate your tires if they deem it necessary!
Every 15,000 Miles
During this appointment, the technician will inspect the braking system, cooling system, and other critical parts of the vehicle to check for signs of damage or malfunction. Assuming everything is working properly, you should only need a standard oil change.
Every 30,000 Miles
The Odyssey maintenance schedule specifies that at every 30,000 miles, you need to perform a few additional maintenance items on top of those completed at the 15,000-mile interval. To start, you need to have the air cleaner element replaced. This filter reduces the level of allergens inside the cabin and needs to be replaced to ensure continued performance.
On top of this task, the Honda technician working on your Odyssey may replace the spark plugs and adjust the drive belts. They will also inspect the braking system for any signs of wear (brake pads may be a little worn by this time).
By this point, you’ve had many great adventures in your Honda Odyssey. Thanks to regular maintenance, it should still be performing great!
At the 60,000-mile mark, your technician will change the oil, oil filter, and the air cleaner element—all being recurring maintenance items. They’ll also inspect the drive belts and braking system, just to make sure that everything is functioning properly.
It’s also important to change the transmission fluid at this time, to ensure the transmission remains in good condition.
Don’t See the Honda Service Interval You Need?
Following this maintenance schedule for the Honda Odyssey is a great start to taking care of your vehicle, but there’s more routine service your van may need. The Honda Maintenance Minder system included in new Odyssey model years will monitor its needs and help you stay on top of all items. Want to know more about Maintenance Minder?
