DESIGN
Honda Civic

The Honda Civic can be described with a variety of adjectives: fun, sleek, athletic. . . As such, it appeals to a wide range of drivers. Regardless, it’s stylish in every sense of the word. From its standard exterior elements to upgrades that include the motorsports-inspired HPD™ Package, the Civic provides plenty of opportunities to express yourself.

Superior Exterior Times 3

One aspect of the Honda Civic that truly sets it apart are its three different body styles: Hatchback, Sedan, and Si (compact sports car). So, there’s certain to be one that speaks to you. Let’s look at each of their exterior design characteristics.

Civic Hatchback
Civic Sedan
Civic Si
  • Minimalist
  • Large windows
  • Wide tailgate
  • Aerodynamic design
  • Low, wide frame
  • Expansive glass
  • Swooping roofline
  • Elongated hood
  • Racing-inspired design
  • Decklid spoiler
  • 18-inch wheels
  • Si badge
  • No matter which version you choose, you’ll make a visual statement that’s loud and proud.

    Interior Comforts

Since you’ll be seated inside your Honda Civic, you’ll want to be sure the cabin offers the comfort and amenities you require. Honda has designed an ergonomic and driver-centric cockpit with easily accessible controls. A nearly panoramic windshield offers wide sightlines and ensures visibility. Among the many available options are heated, 8-way adjustable front seats and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Ensuring comfort also requires having adequate wiggle room for everyone on board—as well as plenty of space to stow whatever gear you bring along (or pick up along the way).

    Body Style
    Headroom (Front/Rear)
    Legroom (Front/Rear)
    Cargo Volume
Hatchback 39.3/37.1 inches 42.3/37.4 inches 24.5 cubic feet
Sedan 39.3/37.1 inches 42.3/37.4 inches 14.8 cubic feet
Si 37.6/37.1 inches 42.3/37.4 inches 14.4 cubic feet

While the Civic Hatchback and the Civic Sedan provide identical amounts of passenger room—and the Si is also similar—the Hatchback offers far more cargo space.

    PERFORMANCE
    Honda Civic

Although the Honda Civic is considered a “compact” vehicle, it doesn’t skimp when it comes to power. Taking a peek under the hood will prove that the Civic can keep up with your active lifestyle as well as some of the “big dogs” out on the road.

    Athletic Metrics

You’ll enjoy impressive power generation from all three variants. The Civic Hatchback and the Civic Sedan share the same two engine options:

    • Standard 2.0L 4-cylinder engine: 158 horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque
    • Optional 1.5L 4-cylinder engine with turbocharger: 180 horsepower and 177 lb-ft of torque

Meanwhile, the Civic Si comes equipped with a 1.5L 4-cylinder engine with turbocharger that generates even more oomph to the tune of 200 horsepower and 192 lb-ft of torque.

    1-2-3 Power Punch

When it comes to moving that pure power to the wheels, the Hatchback and the Sedan once again are similar in their standard Continuously Variable Transmissions, while the Si features a 6-speed manual transmission. In all respects, the Honda Civic is finely tuned to deliver brisk acceleration and smooth handling.

The Si includes a standard 3-mode drive system (Normal/Sport/Individual), while a similar system that includes ECON/Normal/Sport modes is available for the Hatchback and Sedan models.

    TECHNOLOGY
    Honda Civic

Today’s drivers demand that vehicles come equipped with a variety of tech features. Some of these systems enable you to stay connected and entertained, while others are designed to help keep you safe on the road. The Honda Civic offers both in spades.

    Infotainment on the Go

Connect your smartphone through standard Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ to access your apps, maps, audio, and more through the central touchscreen: seven inches in the Hatchback and the Sedan (with a 9-inch screen available) and eight inches in the Si. Bluetooth® and SMS Text Message Functionality are also standard in all three variants.

You’ll enjoy listening to your favorite playlists or podcasts clearly thanks to standard Speed-Sensitive Volume Compensation. For an even more immersive auditory experience, choose the available 12-speaker Bose Premium Sound System.

    Safety Comes Standard

Of course, no technologies are more important than those that help protect you and your crew. Honda takes your safety nearly as seriously as you do, which is why they standardly equip every Civic with the Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assistive features.

In all iterations, among these many systems are:

    • Collision Mitigation Braking System™
    • Forward Collision Warning
    • Adaptive Cruise Control with Low-Speed Follow
    • Lane Keeping Assist System/Lane Departure Warning
    • Auto High-Beam Headlights

Additionally, Blind Spot Information System and Rear Cross Traffic Monitor come standard in the Civic Si and are available in the Hatchback and Sedan.
